sept 15, 16 & 17 Day 91, 91 & 93

Well, it has been a long long day.  Went to a craft fair with my friend Liz, my niece and my sister in law.  It was not a great success.  No much traffic, not much buying....  The others sold a few more than the 2 things I sold.  It was nice to spend a little time with girlfriends, but a disappointment.

I have a few more fairs lined up but I am discouraged.  I have to get a renewed sense of optimism about this.

Anyway, here are some pics from the show.  I made some really cute owls!  check it out.

sept 13, 14 Day 89, 90!

90 Days!!  I have been soooo busy trying to get ready for the Craft fair on Saturday.  My husband is out of town, the shop is busy, I am still trying to get to the gym, and lots of appointments, ....Just super busy.  Zander may come home this weekend.  Yeah!

Unicorn!

She needs a name?  Princess?

here is the cocoon.

I wish I knew how to edit my pictures.....
I am still obsessed with the gnomes. and their homes.  I made another home and a gnome.  And a unicorn.  I am distracted by the TV and thinking about all the stuff I need to do........  I will sign off for now.  I also finished the baby cocoon, but i think I want to change the edging from the white to either a ribbon or some other Colinette point 5 yarn i have. Here are some pictures!

Day 86, 87 & 88 Sept 10, 11 &12

I have been doing a lot of knitting!  I finisehd another magic scarf - fringe and all, another few gnomes and a home.  I also am working on a baby cacoon!  Sooooo cute!  One of my kniting sutdent is making it and I just oculdn't resist getting the pattern and making one too.  I am using some Colinette point 5 yarn to fmake it.  I love that yarn,  It has a great hand, and gourgeous colors.
Yesterday, Sunday, two of my friends and I spent the day in San Francisco.  We had a great time!  First stop - North Beach.  Had a coffee at Cafe Trieste which is an old Italian cafe, just coffee and pastries, and  live music.  They  often have opera singers there, but yesterday they had a small group with mandolins.  Sweet!
We spent a short time in Chinatown.  We got a hair dying lesson from a store owner/artist in a North Beach jewelry shop!  I got to tell my North beach stories yet again!  I love Noth Beach, and I love that it has not changed all that much over the years.  It does not grow because it is super compact to baegin with.  No room for growth and no one seems to remodel!
We spent a lot of time in the Mission.  I forgot about Community Thrift which is a great thrift store on Valencia Street.  Now the Mission has gentrified a LOT over the years.  I lived there starting in 1986.  Now it has a lot of young people and upscale shop.  Many of the businesses that used to be there are gone but some are still there, like Community Thrift.  I bought a tea cup and matching creamer for $2.71.  My friends bought some stuff, too.  We also went to Thrift Town - a huge store!  Great prices and has been there forever.
I really wanted to have lunch at La Rondela.  A funky mexican restaurant and we walked many blocks to get there, and it was GONE!  Just the neon sign left *Sigh*.  So we turned around and walked back to La Cumbre, a fantastic Taqueria, and has yummy grilled chicken burritos :-)
Then - the best - my friend Ashley saw a sign in a store saying YARN and asked if I wanted to stop.....of course I did!  They had a bunch of local handspun and nad dyed yarn.  Some iSF artists some Bay area and I HAD to buy some...  Had a really hard time deciding.  Ipurred and hummed over the yarn with the shop owner, Ashley walked away and I am sure she was thinking I need to leave those two alone with that skein of yarn!!!!
I did decide on some fingering weight merino yarn made by Pigeon Roof Studios.  Gorgeous

Here are some pictures.  Then off to work I go.
Gnomes!  Including one for Halloween

Day 84, 85,

September 8

The Gnome Home with the bumble bee, and one gnome have a new home!  Sold to my niece Jen to give at a birthday party.  Also, my favorite sheep - Shawn - has  a new home, too!  My friend Jana thought she wanted a horse for her granddaughter, but decided to take Shawn the sheep instead!  I guess I will have to change my facebook profile picture as it is a picture of that sheep right now.

I made another gnome home and a gnome.  Also started another gnome.  The gnome home is my own design.  I made the first one from a pattern, but have since made changes.  I wanted one with an overhanging roof so I spent some time thinking about how to do it and I think I came up with a way that works.  Maybe I will write down the directions when I make the next one.  I think it looks kind of hobbit like!

I also finished the basket.  It was fun to knit and I like the shape.

Hope you all have a great Thursday!

I get to use some of the flowers i have made over the last few months.

Day 83 Sept. 5th

Happy Labor Day!

We had a nice day today! Had a great BBQ at our friend Ellen and Sam's tonight.  Yummy BBQ Turkey!  And I made a blueberry/cream cheese pie - delicious :-)  We had some good conversation and friendship.

Today I worked on knitting a small basket, finished another gnome and another gnome home!  Fun to knit and crochet.  These are all made with yarn from my giant stash.  It is fun to rifle through my yarn to find the best colors and weights to work with!

I am tired, have to get back to work/school schedule tomorrow.  I am going to try and go to bed early tonight.  I was up early today and went to bed late last night.  I am a little manic about knitting these gnomes!

See you all soon....
Yellow basket in progress.  Hand dyed yarn from Craftology!

Day 79, 80, 81 & 82

can't figure out how to turn this....
September 4, 2011

I have been knitting and crocheting like mad!  Finally, here are the pictures!  I had ALL day today on my own in my house.... I stayed in my pajamas all day :-) Even after I took a shower at 5pm i just put on some clean jams!!  The day just flew by!  The boys are on their way home now so I put my boxes of yarn away.  I had them all out in the living room for awhile....!

My boys all went to San Francisco/Los Gatos today and I stayed home.  I do not often get time by myself in my house.  I worked on several knitting projects.  My niece wants a Waldorf inspired toy for a 2 year old's birthday.  I made a couple knitted balls, but I am not thrilled with the end result.  I made some Gnomes and a Gnome house today, which I like!
I used some of the flowers I already made for the gnome house.

Here are pictures - hope you all have a nice three day weekend....
